Candidate For Claremont City Council
Raised and educated in Claremont, Jennifer has been inspired by the many family and friends whose own decades of community service have helped define Claremont’s unique character. These people inform Jennifer’s excitement about contributing to a thriving Claremont, and to doing so as a Member of the City Council. She and her husband David, another lifetime Claremont resident, do their best to instill these values in their three children. Along with being a proud parent and dedicated community volunteer, Jennifer has been a professional yoga teacher for the last 15 years and currently teaches in the Physical Education Department at Pomona College.
Jennifer actively volunteers with a number of Claremont organizations and committees. She serves on the Claremont Traffic and Transportation Commission as well as on the boards of Claremont Heritage and the Friends of the Claremont Library. She volunteers for Sustainable Claremont as a Certified Tree Steward and is a proud member of the League of Women Voters, the Democratic Club of Claremont, Kiwanis Club, and the University Club. She is exceptionally honored to be a founder of Claremont Canopy, a nonprofit organization whose mission is to help refugees thrive in their new communities.
Jennifer is dedicated to her family, her career, and her home town. Running for Claremont City Council is a way to further that dedication, express her passion for service, and honor the responsibility she feels to give back to the city that has always been her home. Jennifer’s hope is to be a good steward of the solid foundation laid by past leaders and to build on it with the kinds of long-term future investments that have made Claremont a thriving and vibrant place to live and work.
